Green Porno

July 17, 2009

From Isabella Rossellini and the Sundance Channel comes Season 2 of Green Porno! If you haven’t catched Season 1, it’s one of the most artistic visualisations of mating in the insect world you could find. Season 2 continues the creativity with marine animals, and let’s just say it gets just as hot as it does wet!

who doesn’t need a hat like this?

July 17, 2009

hat

On a hot summer’s day, one would decidedly wear a hat out. But with Rike Feurstein’s collection, a hat isn’t just protective gear, it’s art… but not the types of hats you see at the Kentucky Derby. Those are GAUDAWFUL! With hats like these you can walk around and look less like a middle aged man with male pattern baldness and more like someone who has ripped open the time-space continuum. Though the hat could use some eyeholes or something to aid in visibility, it certaintly isn’t your old Red Sox hat.

Check out this hat and others at Rike Feurstein Berlin.

It’s totally class.

Lauren Nassef is an artist.

She does a collection called A Drawing A Day.

Just to make sure I feel inadequate once a day.

It works.

take a look at my big dipper

Isotope sells these awesome graphic tees on etsy – i’m really hyping this Leo Constellation print. All of their designs are printed on American Apparel t-shirts, so you know they’re both good quality and would look good on a bare-ass naked body with nothing else but a scrunchy.

check out them chops

July 17, 2009

It never really occured to me before that they named Lamb Chop after a piece of meat… That’s like naming your cow “Steak” or your Fish “Filet” or your mom “Last Night.”

These ink prints from etsy shop luckytwentyone are pretty sweet – check em out!

Eels – Lilac Breeze – mp3

I’ve always enjoyed the Eels as a little break from anything too synthetic or too folksy; it’s real and easy to listen to. It doesn’t hurt that their lead sounds a lot like Beck, but where Beck is quite innovative, I find the Eels being conventional, but not in a bad way – more of a comforting way. Lilac Breeze has a way of reminding me of children schools songs like, “Down by the bank…” in the sense that it has a kinda memorizational quality to it’s chorus.

Take a listen.

Simian Mobile Disco – 1000 Horses Can’t Be Wrong – mp3

Sometimes i feel as if i have the ears of a computer. The music i like can get really synthesized and sound like robots having sex.

This song by Simian Mobile Disco makes me want to get up and just wear tin foil and dance or move my legs like a spazz until it makes sense. Regardless, its really catchy and i feel like it should be used in the next Ocean’s movie, like Ocean’s 14 when they rob someone else and need to get through lasers and trip wires.

Or I could stick with my day job.

…wait

The Bicycles – Oh No, It’s Love – mp3

Meet The Bicycles with this fan-made video of Oh No, It’s Love. If The Shins, Tilly and the Wall, AND The Beach Boys all had a mystical music orgy, their lovechild would be this band.

Necessary analogy? I think so.
